An important event at the Polish Pavilion Expo 2025 was a workshop devoted to economic education, the figure of Janusz Korczak and the message conveyed by the book ‘Bankruptcy of the Little Jack’, the original edition of which from 100 years ago was presented in a special display case – as one of the exhibits representing Poland's cultural and educational heritage.
Experts from Poland introduced guests visiting our national Pavilion to the heritage of the outstanding educator and his contribution to the development of economic education, showed the experience of Polish economic education and, in particular, the achievements of the Year of Economic Education 2024 and the assumptions of the National Strategy for Economic Education, the planned activities of the National Centre for Economic Education and many educational projects.
Among others, thanks to the initiative of the Warsaw Institute of Banking Foundation and the support of the Senate of the Republic of Poland economic education projects will be implemented for Polish schools in the coming years.
The commitment to a global approach in economic education is also reflected in the fact that for the next 6 months, the Polish Pavilion and the website expo2025.pl will offer downloads of translations of the book “The Adventures of Entrepreneurial Jack”, inspired by Korczak's novel in Japanese, English and Polish. Translations in a further languages will soon be published, and the knowledge contained in the book will have a chance to reach children and young people around the world with Janusz Korczak's message.
